Low-emissivity (low-e) coating is a thin, virtually invisible layer of metallic particles that are applied to the inside surface of glass. This special coating is designed to reflect heat back into a room, rather than allowing it to escape through the glass, which makes it an energy-efficient choice for windows and doors.
Alternatively, the low-emissivity (low-e) coating will reflect the heat back to the outside in case of outside temperature being higher than inside – making it a preferable choice for large glazing areas that are under risk of overheating during warmer months.
